GenM Software
Instruments for people who want to see what is really there — in a coin, in the sky, or in a computer. Designed and written by Jennifer K. Mellen.
CoinScope Pro
Coin examination software for Windows. The whole coin bench.
Put a coin under any USB microscope, move the light, and see the surface for what it is: doubling, die cracks, wear and marks, measured in millimeters and microns, with every number explained. Then file it with its photos, value and shelf spot, and print its label. Your coins never leave your computer.
- Photography: focus peaking, focus stacking, phone and DSLR capture, and a raw developer.
- Surface examination: fifteen views of the surface, raking light, and doubling and line finders.
- Measurement: calibrate once against the coin itself, then measure in millimeters and microns.
- Collection: one record per coin — photos, grade, cost, value, provenance and shelf spot. US, world and ancient.
- Selling and references: labels, flip cards, listing copy, plus key dates, doubled dies and VAMs that work offline.
LightningWX
NEXRAD weather radar software for Windows. Your own weather workstation.
Live NEXRAD radar from every U.S. site, satellite lightning drawn on top of everything, rotation and tornado debris flagged the moment the radar sees them, and GenAvaM, our own model, telling you where lightning is likely next. Then it explains every bit of it in plain English.
New in versions 1.5.15 and 1.5.16: build your own radar products with Custom Products, loop up to 250 frames, and see National Weather Service storm reports right on the map. Version 1.5.14 added every hurricane model plus the LightningWX Consensus forecast, an experimental Tornado Chance for each storm, Storm Path & Timing, Birds On Radar and a Past Storms archive browser.
- Live NEXRAD radar: Level II data for every U.S. radar, about 15 seconds behind real time, plus the archive back to 1991.
- Lightning, always on top: NOAA GOES satellite lightning and a Lightning Jump alert when a storm’s flash rate suddenly climbs.
- Rotation and tornado detection: mesocyclone, tornado vortex signature and debris, with rotation tracks.
- GenAvaM forecasts: lightning chance for the next 30 and 60 minutes and a forecast radar out to two hours.
- Hurricane tracking: active NHC storms with the cone, watches and warnings, every model the National Hurricane Center receives, and our own LightningWX Consensus (experimental).
- Storm tools: Tornado Chance (experimental), Storm Path & Timing with arrival windows for towns in a storm’s path, and Past Storms, a radar archive browser included with your license.
- Custom Products: write a simple rule such as
ZDR > 2 and height > freezing_leveland LightningWX draws it on the map. Start from 10 ready-made products, save your own, and import GR2Analyst and RadarOmega color tables. Included with your license. - 250-frame loops and storm reports: loops run up to 250 frames, and a Spotter Reports layer shows NWS storm reports as they come in, tornadoes, hail, wind damage and flooding, each with its own icon and age.
- 3D Storm Scene and Volume Explorer: storms as clouds, rain shafts and lightning over real USGS terrain and imagery.
- LaunchWX: its own estimated chance of acceptable launch weather for Cape Canaveral, Kennedy, Vandenberg, Starbase and Wallops, built from raw weather data and the Lightning Launch Commit Criteria. It is an independent estimate, not the official launch forecast.
- Rare Air: forecasts the strange and overlooked side of the sky, such as halos, sun dogs, fogbows, thundersnow and the aurora, with the math shown on every card.
- Raw Science Data: every live metric LightningWX uses to forecast, with time-series charts, definitions and CSV export.
- A full Education Center: lessons, quizzes and a glossary built into the program.
DeepTask
The advanced process monitor for Windows. Monitor everything. Hunt malware. Take control.
DeepTask shows everything a process uses — CPU, GPU, NPU, memory, disk, network, registry activity, threads, handles, modules and tokens — and lets you control it, hunt malware, and record exactly what a program does.
- See everything: live per-process CPU, GPU and NPU usage, real network throughput and registry activity.
- Hunt malware: offline threat heuristics, fake or hijacked system-DLL detection, hidden process scans, scheduled-task inspection and a temp-folder monitor.
- Take control: priority and CPU affinity, efficiency mode, firewall block, per-application network priority, persistent per-process rules and file and registry recording.

- Why I Miss FrontPage, and Why Today’s Web Is Better AnywayThe old WYSIWYG editors made the first page easy and the tenth page painful. Modern web development reverses that trade. A balanced look at both.
